OBERAMMERGAU
The Oberammergau Passionsspiele has been performed every 10 years since 1634 by the inhabitants of the Bavarian village of Oberammergau (Germany). The earliest continuous survivor of the age of Christian religions vernacular drama, it’s one of the longest running western performing arts traditions and a UNESCO event of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Nowhere is it more evident that there is no “one way” but only one of many than in international practice. Considered one of the longest uninterrupted performance traditions in the world, the Balinese traditional performing arts are unique, rich, and complex.
Over the last five years, Bouche Theatre Collective have worked hard to introduce new Canadian works to artists and organisations across Canada and abroad. Fecelift is the 9th new Canadian work in translation to reach the stage since reopening.
